Unit & Measure Converter collects no data about you. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no ability to contact a server, because it contains no networking code of any kind.
Information I collect
None. The app has no networking code, so it cannot send information anywhere even in principle — there is no connection for it to open. You are never asked to create an account, and never asked for your name, email address, or any other personal detail.
Information stored on your device
So that the app is where you left it, a small amount of state is saved in the app's own private storage on your iPhone. It never leaves your device:
- Which categories you have starred as favorites, and the order you put them in
- Conversion pairs you have saved
- Recently used categories and units
- The units and value you last had open
- Whether you have seen the welcome screens
This is ordinary app preference data. It is not personal information, it is not transmitted, and I have no access to it.
Third-party services
The app uses none. There is no analytics framework, no crash reporting service, no advertising network, and no third-party code of any kind included in it.
The one third party involved is Apple, who distributes the app through the App Store. Apple may collect information about downloads and purchases, and — if you have chosen to share analytics with developers in your iOS settings — may provide me with anonymous, aggregated statistics such as crash reports and install counts. That data comes from Apple, not from the app, it does not identify you, and it is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Advertising and tracking
There is no advertising in the app and no tracking of any kind. The app does not use the advertising identifier, does not build a profile of you, and does not share anything with data brokers or advertising networks. It will never ask for permission to track you, because there is nothing for it to track.
Sharing and exporting
When you export a conversion as text or as an image, iOS opens its standard share sheet and you choose where it goes — Messages, Mail, Notes, Files, Photos, or anywhere else. The app hands the content to iOS at that moment and plays no further part: it does not transmit anything itself, and it keeps no record of what you exported or where you sent it.
Photos permission
If you choose Save Image from the share sheet, iOS may ask your permission to add to your photo library. That permission is add-only: it allows an image you deliberately exported to be saved, and it does not allow the app to read, browse, or search photos already in your library. The app contains no code that reads your photo library.
Children's privacy
The app collects no data from anyone, children included, and shows no advertising. There is nothing in it that is directed at children specifically, and nothing that would collect information from them.
Data retention and deletion
Because no data is collected, there is nothing for me to retain, and no copy of anything held anywhere. The preferences listed above stay on your iPhone until you remove them. Deleting the app deletes all of it, immediately and permanently.
Security
Nothing is transmitted, so there is no transfer that could be intercepted. What the app stores stays inside its own sandboxed storage on your device, protected by iOS's app isolation and by your device's own encryption and passcode.
